1966-1979
  • Began chrome plating for Air Force and the Navy who relied on corrosion and wear properties of chromium plated cylinder barrels
Late 1960's
  • The name Engine Components, Inc. (ECi) was born
1972
  • Began chrome plating for TCM
Mid-1970's
  • Obtained first FAA approval to manufacture certified parts
1994
  • Obtained FAA approval for its proprietary nickel composite plating and introduces the nickel barrel repair process to the industry
1997
  • Discontinued chromium plating after 54 years of continuous operation
1998-2001
  • Obtained over 1,500 FAA-PMA approvals through test and analysis
  • Introduced new certified parts to market
2001
  • Introduced the ECi TITAN® FAA-PMA brand product line including the TITAN® Kit Engine™
2002
  • Registered to ISO 9001:2000 international quality standard
2005
  • Introduced the experimental product line, ECi TITAN® EXP™ brand, including the TITAN® EXP™ KitEngine™ (EXP = ECi Xperimental Products)
2007
2010
  • Sterling Machinery & Process was formed to provide DAS and business units a centralized manufacturing engineering and technology services along with maintaining an in-house equipment maintenance resource division.
2011
  • Engine Components International was formed, creating the final business unit in the DAS ReFocused strategic business plan of 2007. Engine Components Int'l a worldwide distributor of general aviation aftermarket parts, services and engine kits.
